Beer Apple Strudel

Beer Apple strudel is considered one of the most favorite desserts in Czech Cuisine. It is not that surprising since Czechs are well-known for being great beer consumers. Many Czechs have apple trees in their gardens and this is a good way to use them. It has retained great popularity in Czech cuisine for many years because it is easy to make. When it is baked and dusted with powder sugar it is deliciousness with coffee or tea.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup unsalted butter
1 lb peeled sliced apples
1 cup lager beer
1 cup plain bread crumbs
1 cup raisins
1 Tbs cinnamon
1 cup crystal
1/2 cup melted unsalted butter for brushing
1 cup powder sugar to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350F.

Combine the all-purpose flour, unsalted butter, and beer knead it carefully. Let it rest for approximately half an hour covered with a kitchen towel. Dust a pastry board with a small amount of flour and roll the pastry using a rolling pin. Sprinkle the pastry with plain bread crumbs and put the sliced apples on it. Add the raisins, cinnamon, and sugar. Roll up the pastry and brush it with melted unsalted butter. Bake it at 350F for 20 minutes.

Dust the warm strudel with a powder sugar.
